Loved

Do you ever find yourself asking the question, “Am I loved”? Do you struggle with feeling loved?

This week I will be speaking on love, specifically on Gods love for us. The passage that I will be looking at is Ephesians 3:14-19. This is one of my favorite passages in all of scripture, and it is a powerful reminder of God’s loves for us. We also are reminded of God’s love for us during the Christmas season especially. What is the Christmas story? It’s a story of a God of love invading our world in the person of His Son of love. He establish His kingdom of love by radically sacrificing Himself for us and because of His great love for us, He forgives us, and draws us back into His family of love. As Paul David Tripp reminds us in his book, 40 Days of Love, the entire hope of fallen humanity rests on this one thin. There is a Savior who is eternally steadfast in loving us, redeeming us, forgiving and reconciling us. Not because we are so good or special, but because He is Love and He Loves us. The Psalms are filled with Scriptures that show us as a believer, God loves us eternally.

Psalms 136:1

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love is eternal.

Psalms 106:1

Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

1 Chronicles 16:34

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

Psalms 107:1

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

Psalms 118:1

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

What do these verses mean? It means that Gods love is perfectly steadfast. It is eternal, which means that God has placed His love on you as a child of God. He will never remove it. No matter what you are going through in life, there is a reason to continue, because you are perfectly loved by the Creator of the universe. You are Loved! My prayer as you go through this busy Christmas season, is that you will be reminded over and over again that you are loved. Paul reminds us in Romans 8, there is nothing in all the world that can separate you from the Love of God. I pray that this promise and this truth will go deep into your heart, and you will be able to find peace and rest in the Goodness of God and his Great love for you. No matter how difficult life is around you.

Ephesians 3:14-19

For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit, and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
